WHAT A YOUNGSTER!
Meet Macie McGradie 💙
We’re fortunate at Budgy Smuggler to be linked with some epic people doing incredible things to help the community. Lately we've met Macie, a young girl from Sydney who has seriously blown us away!
A few weeks back, parents Lisa & Barry were having a conversation with their 7 year old daughter Macie who wanted to do something to support the community. They discussed a few different options before deciding on raising funds for Batyr (a mental health organisation created by young people, for young people).
"Mum I want to do this because everyone deserves to be happy and not feel worried or scared about the day when they wake up, I want every kid to feel like they are wrapped in cuddles each day when they come to school”.
Macie is aiming to swim 9km this month in her efforts to raise money for Batyr. She’s a keen smuggler and loves the Aboriginal designs showcasing her culture. We’ve chipped in some swimwear but also said we’d share this story in case any other smugglers would like to donate to the cause.
We’ll dollar match 50p for every dollar for the first £500 donated by fellow smugglers. Macie, you’ve really made us proud at Budgy Smuggler and we’re cheering for you to reach the 9km and smash your fundraising goals!
Macie has already smashed her initial fundraising goal ($500 AUD) … let’s help her crank this up by donating here.
With Smuggler Love,
